Abstract

An experimental study was conducted to investigate the effects of varying concentrations (10-30 µg/ml) of different antibiotics namely penicillin G, erythromycin, chrompheniol, streptomycin, tetracycline and gentamicin added to the fermentation broth at different time intervals (0-48h) on growth and l-glutamic acid production by the biotin-auxotrophic mutant Micrococcus glutamicus AB100. All these antibiotics showed determental effect on both growth & l-glutamic acid production.
